Policies

Welcome to Grooming Arts Northwest! Discover our commitment to excellence through transparent and customer-focused policies. Working with us means you understand and agree to abide by the policies below.

Cancelling/Rescheduling

At Grooming Arts Northwest, we value your time and ours as an appointment-based business. Your cooperation in adhering to our cancellation, rescheduling, and no-show policy is crucial for the smooth operation of our practice.

  1. Notice Period:

    • We kindly request that you notify us at least 48 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.

  2. No-Show Fee:

    • Failure to provide a 48-hour notice for cancellation or rescheduling will be recorded as a no-show.

    • A $50 fee will be assessed for the first occurrence of a no-show.

  3. Subsequent No-Shows:

    • In the event of a second or subsequent no-show without a 48-hour notice, the client is responsible for the FULL cost of the service.

  4. Inclement Weather Policy:

    • We follow Multnomah County public school closures during inclement weather. We strive to continue operations under safe conditions. If unsure, please message us to confirm.

  5. Exceptional Circumstances:

    • We understand that unforeseen circumstances such as family or medical emergencies may arise. In such cases, late cancellation fees may be waived on a case-by-case basis.

  6. Appointment Time Adherence:

    • Clients consistently unable to keep their regular appointment times may risk losing the privilege of scheduling future appointments. We reserve the right to not accept appointments from clients who repeatedly fail to adhere to their scheduled times.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in following these policies. It helps us provide better service to all our clients. Thank you for choosing Grooming Arts Northwest.

Safety Policy

At Grooming Arts Northwest, the safety and well-being of your furry friends are our top priorities. We strive to provide a positive grooming experience for every dog in our care. In order to ensure the safety of both the groomer and the dog, we follow a comprehensive safety policy outlined below. Please be aware of our approach, where we strive to deliver the best grooming service possible. However, it's important to note that there might be instances where we're unable to complete the entire groom safely in one session or at all, depending on your dog's behavior.

  1. Patient and Gentle Approach: We commit to treating each dog with patience, care, and respect. Our groomers will employ gentle techniques to create a comfortable and stress-free environment.

  2. No Forceful Procedures: We do not believe in forcing dogs through any grooming procedure. If a dog exhibits signs of discomfort or anxiety, we will adjust our approach or try alternative methods to ensure a positive experience.

  3. Gradual Introduction and Building Tolerance: Understanding that some dogs may take time to acclimate to grooming procedures, we will gradually introduce them to the grooming process. If necessary, we may spread grooming sessions over multiple visits to build their tolerance and comfort level.

  4. Flexible Session Duration: While we aim to complete grooming sessions efficiently, we prioritize the well-being of the dog. If a complete grooming cannot be achieved in one session, we may extend the process over multiple visits to avoid causing undue stress.

  5. Referral to Trainers: If a dog continues to exhibit difficulties or discomfort during grooming despite our efforts, we may recommend seeking the assistance of a professional dog trainer. We believe that additional training may contribute to improving the dog's behavior and comfort during grooming.

  6. Not Dog Trainers: While we assist dogs in becoming accustomed to grooming procedures, it's important to note that we are not professional dog trainers. Our expertise lies in grooming, and we may refer clients to qualified trainers for behavioral issues beyond the scope of grooming.

By entrusting your dog to Grooming Arts Northwest, you acknowledge and agree to our safety policy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a positive and stress-free grooming experience for your beloved pet.

Thank you for choosing Grooming Arts Northwest!
