Karu Wojtaszek, ICMG
International Certified Master Groomer
Founder and CEO of Grooming Arts Northwest
Preferred Pronouns: He/Him
With a career spanning over two decades, Karu Wojtaszek is a seasoned professional in the pet industry. His journey began in pet retail, where his passion for working directly with animals led him into grooming. Through hands-on apprenticeship and real-world experience, his skills quickly developed, eventually leading him into competitive dog grooming and AKC conformation rings.
As an International Certified Master Groomer and award-winning stylist, Karu holds certifications through both major organizations, IPG and NDGAA. He maintains a strong commitment to quality and animal welfare, supported by his Low Stress Handling® Silver Certification and Fear Free® Professional Certification.
In September 2017, Karu founded Grooming Arts Northwest to bridge the gap between show-quality grooming and practical, everyday pet care. Today, his focus is primarily on running and growing the business, creating a positive environment for his team, and supporting groomers in developing their skills and confidence.
Having built his own foundation through apprenticeship, he places a high value on hands-on learning and is passionate about creating a space where groomers can grow, develop their craft, and do their best work.
Looking ahead, his goals remain centered on steady growth, supporting his team, and continuing to refine the systems and culture that make Grooming Arts Northwest successful.
At home, Karu has a long-standing love for herding breeds, especially Aussies and Mini American Shepherds.
