International Certified Master Groomer
Founder and CEO of Grooming Arts Northwest

Preferred Pronouns: He/Him

With a career spanning since 2008, Karu Wojtaszek is a seasoned veteran in the pet industry. His journey began in pet retail, where his passion for working directly with animals led him to pursue grooming. Undergoing an apprenticeship, Karu's dedication and talent quickly flourished, propelling him into the world of competitive dog grooming and AKC conformation rings.

As an International Certified Master Groomer and award-winning pet stylist, Karu's credentials speak volumes. Having certifications of both major certifying bodies IPG and NDGAA, he holds himself to the highest standards of care. His commitment to the well-being of pets is further evidenced by his Low Stress Handling® Silver Certification and Fear Free® Professional Certification.

In September 2017, Karu founded Grooming Arts Northwest to bridge the gap between show and competition grooming and everyday pet grooming. Here, he oversees each stylist's work, ensuring that every client receives the perfect look.

With a special love for doodles and poodle mixes, Karu revels in the challenge of grooming their natural rustic coats to look effortlessly ungroomed. His finesse and skill in this art form have earned him a reputation for excellence.

Looking ahead, Karu's future goals are simple yet profound: to continue supporting his staff, business, and cherished clients.

At home, Karu's heart belongs to herding dogs, particularly Aussies and Mini American Shepherds. With two minis of his own, Harry and Metty, including a retired champion, Karu's love for these breeds shines through in his work and personal life.
